Like so many others, I’m a big fan of Amy Welborn, a Catholic blogger and author, and was shocked when I heard the tragic news that her writer-husband Michael Dubruiel died yesterday after collapsing at the gym.
If you, too, have been touched by this couple’s writing and sharing of their faith, please take to heart what Danielle Bean writes over at Faith & Family Live, “This couple has given so much to the Church through their work. Please consider helping in whatever way you can.”
Other than asking for your prayers, the site is collecting donations via PayPal. Click here to show your support.
During this time of tremendous grief, may the Welborn family rest in Christ’s presence and find comfort and peace in the mystery and the hope of the cross.

May he rest in peace. my family’s prayers are with Amy and her children. I cannot imagine what she is going through right now. May God give her strength and consolation.
FYI – Father Z is collecting spiritual bouquet posts.
Amy has requested that those who would like to help should buy Michael’s books because the proceeds go directly to their kids college fund. Lisa Hendey at Catholic Mom is helping with that request at http://new.catholicmom.com/2009/02/04/february-book-club/.
Michael Dubruiel’s great book on the Mass moving up the charts at Amazon. I don’t know where it was yesterday, but it’s taken a huge jump already today as we all work together to support the family.
Right now, the How To Book of the Mass is #1 under the Religion subcategories Catholicism, Ritual, and Prayer, Under Religion, it’s #26 and #253 for all of Amazon today. St. Blogs community is clearly putting your money where your mouths are.
Danielle Bean has also established a support fund to a donation fun to help their children at her site: http://daniellebean.com/2009/02/04/please-help-spread-the-word/
