More on Palin

Whatever your political leanings or whether you’re ready to join the Palin fan club or not, there’s a candid discussion going on at Faith & Family Live! called Sarah Palin and the Politics of Motherhood. Some people, conservatives and liberals alike, are asking whether a mom of five, including one special needs baby, has any business running for VP of the United States.

What do you think?

An ordinary mom of five has no business running for VP or any public office especially if one of those five is a nursing baby with special needs. That said, Sarah Palin might be one of those extraordinary women who can do everything and do them well. She might be the ideal woman the original feminists envisioned–loving wife and mother with a successful career. But the feminists of today despise feminism and they want to be men.

I also think that SP is flattered that she was asked. And if this be the case, she needs our prayers. May God fortify her against corruptions and compromises.

I also want to add that I could never understand the feminists asking for equality between the sexes. Why would anyone in the superior position want equality? They were fooled into believing that they would be happier if they have choices.

All the feminists have done is make more work for women (job outside the home plus house work, mothering and wifering). I think that we can blame the feminists for all the ills of our society today.

When they talk about choices they mean choices to destroy their bodies and souls. If they really mean choices in way of freedom to choose what a woman think is best for her they would applaud Sarah Palin for her success.

Just in case you’re wondering, I am a mother of five (one of them is a nursing baby) and I work 32 hours a week so I can get health benefits for my family. I also homeschool four of my children. If it wasn’t fr the feminists, the schools wouldn’t be so bad that I have to homeschool. If it wasn’t for the feminists, I wouldn’t have to work. If it wasn’t for the feminists, my husband would be making a wage sufficient for our family. I am doing it for the sake f my family and I am happy to do it.

These feminists are so unhappy and mean because they are trapped in their own mistakes and are so stubborn they won’t admit it. Therefore they blame and continue to ask for more rights as if that will get them out of their hole.

Hi, I’m Kate

I’m a wife, mom of five kids, writer, speaker, storyteller, bibliophile, runner, eating disorder survivor, and perfectionist in recovery. I'm the author of Getting Past Perfect: Finding Joy & Grace in the Messiness of Motherhood  and Weightless: Making Peace With Your Body.

I’ve tried a lot of things in my life – anorexia, bulimia, law school, teaching aerobics, extended breastfeeding, vegetarianism, trying to be perfect and failing miserably at it – and through it all I’ve been writing. And learning to embrace the messiness of life instead of covering it up, making excuses for it, or being ashamed of my brokenness or my home’s sticky counters.

Nowadays I’m striving every single, imperfect day to strike a balance between keeping it real and keeping it joyful.
