Face Lift

Not for me. No way. No how. Not even if I one day make a Sharpei look like the poster child for Olay skin cream.

Besides, there was no recovery time needed, and it was much more fun giving my blog a face lift (it’s still a work in progress much like my kiddos and life, so bear with me while some of the components remain in the “under construction” phase). I worked with Shera at Simple and Sweet Designs, and she was very patient with an HTML ignoramus like myself. It was a great (and painless) experience, and she offers a very quick turnaround. Thanks to my hubby for the early Christmas gift.

Other news:

I started a review site because blogging, freelancing, volunteering, housekeeping, growing a baby, homeschooling a preschooler (kind of), and keeping a toddler from killing herself left me with a lot of free time on my hands. Seriously, my reviews may be infrequent, but it sounded like fun to share my opinion about different products. NOTE: I’ll be keeping all my media reviews over here.

My first post is a recap of the Atlanta General Motors/BlogHer Ride & Drive event. I had the opportunity to test drive two Saturns, including the Hybrid VUE, and network with other Atlanta-area bloggers. Fun stuff.

    Love it! :) What fun!

Hi, I’m Kate

I’m a wife, mom of five kids, writer, speaker, storyteller, bibliophile, runner, eating disorder survivor, and perfectionist in recovery. I'm the author of Getting Past Perfect: Finding Joy & Grace in the Messiness of Motherhood  and Weightless: Making Peace With Your Body.

I’ve tried a lot of things in my life – anorexia, bulimia, law school, teaching aerobics, extended breastfeeding, vegetarianism, trying to be perfect and failing miserably at it – and through it all I’ve been writing. And learning to embrace the messiness of life instead of covering it up, making excuses for it, or being ashamed of my brokenness or my home’s sticky counters.

Nowadays I’m striving every single, imperfect day to strike a balance between keeping it real and keeping it joyful.
