I frequently mention my “amazing Catholic certified nurse midwife” on this blog, and last spring I posted a brief tribute here after writing an article about her and her pro-life work for Canticle magazine.
Well, this evening I received an email from a fellow mom and patient of Diane’s asking for my help. Diane is one of the strongest and most faithful and humble women I know. She’s been a Godsend to me and my entire family. In fact, I have an appointment tomorrow and my husband offered to watch the girls, but Madeline insisted on going. “I want to see Diane,” she said. “Do you think she still has her lollipops?” (Diane always makes Madeline feel special during my prenatal appointments, and my daughter frequently wants to draw her pictures and asks about her.)
Not surprisingly, I’m eager to help out in any way I can.
Diane has recently changed practices, and she’s having trouble getting the word out to all of her patients.
From the email I received:
“Diane is the reason my baby is alive. After two miscarriages, Diane’s instincts and mine was that something was wrong. She ran the blood tests most docs only run after three miscarriages and found a blood disorder that we are now treating. I’m ten weeks and counting, and this is the healthiest pregnancy yet.
She is one of the best people I have ever met and definitely one of the best medical professionals I know, and it breaks my heart to see her suffering because she’s [unable] to reach out to the patients she cares about.”
The email went on to ask me if I could help spread the word about her new contact info on this little corner of Cyberspace, so here goes:
Diane Tandy, midwife extraordinaire, is now working at ISIS OB/GYN in Alpharetta. She’s alive and well and though she’s sad that she had to move on to a new location, she is looking forward to continuing her pro-life crusade and serving women and babies in the Atlanta/Alpharetta area.
You can find Diane Tandy at ISIS OB/GYN:
770.521.BABY (2229)
401 South Main Street, Suite B8
Alpharetta, GA 30004
She also now has a new website and a Facebook fan page.
If you are lucky enough to be in the Atlanta area and are in need of OB/GYN care, I highly recommend Diane Tandy.

I’m not in your area, but I think it’s so great that you are supporting a wonderful Catholic midwife. My midwives are amazing, and I’m happy to see another amazing woman getting the respect she deserves!

I too just delivered with Diane on August 31st, 2009. I met her the first time I visited Isis, but at 33 weeks, Isis let all of their midwives go. Fortunately, I was able to speak with one of the midwives there to find out where Diane was practicing. She is now located at the Emory Johns Creek Physicians Plaza. I would recommend her in a heartbeat – she is a complete blessing, my husband and I could not have been happier with her competent abilities to deliver our 10 lb. baby boy, completely naturally!

Just randomly came across this blog when searching for Diane’s name to see where she works. 14 years ago she delivered my twins and I’m pregnant now and just wondered where she was as I was looking at her name on my twins birth certificate. Dr. Sotomayer was supposed to deliver me but he did not make it to the hospital, so Diane did. She’s fabulous! Loved seeing her through my pregnancy.
