How cute! :) Maternal instincts already kicking in, huh?

My son nursed a baby doll after his baby brother was born. LOL
That was hysterical! He had just turned 3 and wanted to nurse when I nursed.

Awwwww, I have a picture just like that when I was two and my Mom was nursing my baby sister. So precious!

That is funny! Like Sharon, my son nursed a baby doll when my youngest was a nursling. It was so cute. Got it on video. He’ll hate that someday.

    Thanks for sharing!

oh, that is so cute!!!!! It’s so funny what kids pick up on.

After my second child was born, my 2 year old son used to take his stuffed animals and put their mouths up to my chest to nurse from me. It was so sweet!

Ahh! I love pictures like this. All kids should see nursing as totally normal :)

Hi, I’m Kate

I’m a wife, mom of five kids, writer, speaker, storyteller, bibliophile, runner, eating disorder survivor, and perfectionist in recovery. I'm the author of Getting Past Perfect: Finding Joy & Grace in the Messiness of Motherhood  and Weightless: Making Peace With Your Body.

I’ve tried a lot of things in my life – anorexia, bulimia, law school, teaching aerobics, extended breastfeeding, vegetarianism, trying to be perfect and failing miserably at it – and through it all I’ve been writing. And learning to embrace the messiness of life instead of covering it up, making excuses for it, or being ashamed of my brokenness or my home’s sticky counters.

Nowadays I’m striving every single, imperfect day to strike a balance between keeping it real and keeping it joyful.
