Hear Me, Hear Me…

…on the Son Rise Morning Radio Show filling in for the ever-talented, multitasking maven Danielle Bean tomorrow (Friday, October 15th) at 6:50 a.m. EST.

And you know, I’m um just a little, you know, um nervous about chatting with Brian Patrick in place of a Catholic celebrity of such stature and notoriety as Danielle. I hope I don’t, um, sound like this when I, um, talk.

(mostly) Just kidding.

Danielle and Brian cover all things related to Catholic family life during her regular segment. Tomorrow morning, Brian and I will be talking about pets. I’ll try not to gush too much about our family’s new furry friend.

You can listen live online or tune in to EWTN Radio.

Oh, and I’m also over at Faith & Family LIVE! today sharing Six Tips for a Healthy Marriage: Make Your Relationship a Priority (an article that originally appeared over at Inside Catholic). See you over there!

Now I’m off to meet my friend and the very talented writer and author Ms. Testosterhome at the Grady Alumni Authors Showcase. (You have read her book, haven’t you?) Go DAWGS!

(It’s been a busy but good week.)

I’d be tickled pink (because we don’t have enough pink around here with three girls, Mom, and a girl dog) if you subscribed to Momopoly.

Hi, I’m Kate

I’m a wife, mom of five kids, writer, speaker, storyteller, bibliophile, runner, eating disorder survivor, and perfectionist in recovery. I'm the author of Getting Past Perfect: Finding Joy & Grace in the Messiness of Motherhood  and Weightless: Making Peace With Your Body.

I’ve tried a lot of things in my life – anorexia, bulimia, law school, teaching aerobics, extended breastfeeding, vegetarianism, trying to be perfect and failing miserably at it – and through it all I’ve been writing. And learning to embrace the messiness of life instead of covering it up, making excuses for it, or being ashamed of my brokenness or my home’s sticky counters.

Nowadays I’m striving every single, imperfect day to strike a balance between keeping it real and keeping it joyful.

“She could never be a saint, but she thought she could be a martyr if they killed her quick.”

―Flannery O'Connor
