Back in January I made a wish/resolution for 2011 over at Inside Catholic. Lately the tedium of home life has been getting to me (think daunting laundry piles, constantly plying little tummies with snacks, and putting socks on wiggly feet over and over again), so I just feel like I need the reminder to do everything with love:
“My little ones may not be able to pour themselves a cup of milk (without flooding the counter) or quell their hyperactive, overtired moods all on their own, but they do have the uncanny ability to cipher when I’m doing something with love — or not. So my wish (resolution!) for 2011 is to embrace Saint Therese of Lisieux’s little way and to do every little thing — from spreading PB on bread to fishing a Lego out of my toddler’s mouth — with simple but very real love.”

Thank you. A very good reminder.

Thank you so much for the reminder – I needed it today. My nearly 21 mo. old toddler has decided it's high time she entered the "terrible twos", and as a first time mom, I'm finding myself losing my patience with her, *a lot*. Maybe if I can see her more the way that God sees us, and treat her accordingly, it will help.

I read the reminder this morning and then we had a rushed morning where we all felt out of sync and none of us showed much love. Thank God for grace and second chances. :-)

Thank God for second chances indeed! We all have those days. I hope your afternoon goes more smoothly.

I think we all need a reminder like this. It's so easy for me to feel overwhelmed sometimes in the midst of all the chaos, and even question at times if it's all worth it, but the persective of every little nitty-gritty thing being done with love is the perfect one to adopt. And you're so right — they always pick up on it when we're not doing that. Thanks for the reminder.

Great reminder…great way to put St. Therese's example into practice in the life of a Mom.
Has anyone read "I believe in Love" by Fr. d'Elbee? This could be my favourite book and it's based on the spirituality and example of St. Therese.

Monica, I have not read "I Believe in Love," but it sounds like something I'd like to crack open. Thank you for the recommendation.
