An Apology to My Email & Feed Subscribers

Some of you may have noticed that ever since I migrated from Blogger to WordPress, I’ve been having serious issues with my feed. I realize that for some reason old posts keep showing up as new in feed readers and that my poor email subscribers are inundated with links to about 10 old posts with each new email update. I have no idea why this is happening. I’m trying to get to the bottom of it and rectify it. (And if anyone knows what gives, let me know.) In the meantime, thank you for your patience!

Just think of it as “growing pain”, Kate.

Thanks, Melanie. Unfortunately, there have been a lot of them. But as my wise 6-year-old reminded me, “Mommy, it’s just a website.” That it is!

But seriously, I think that’s happened to every blog I’ve seen migrate to word press. In fact when you announced you were migrating your blog, I assumed old posts would show up in the feed reader. Not that I understand why; but it does seem to be a common occurrence if that’s any consolation.

    Does it eventually stop?

    (I’m not obsessing about this…much.)

Hi, I’m Kate

I’m a wife, mom of five kids, writer, speaker, storyteller, bibliophile, runner, eating disorder survivor, and perfectionist in recovery. I'm the author of Getting Past Perfect: Finding Joy & Grace in the Messiness of Motherhood  and Weightless: Making Peace With Your Body.

I’ve tried a lot of things in my life – anorexia, bulimia, law school, teaching aerobics, extended breastfeeding, vegetarianism, trying to be perfect and failing miserably at it – and through it all I’ve been writing. And learning to embrace the messiness of life instead of covering it up, making excuses for it, or being ashamed of my brokenness or my home’s sticky counters.

Nowadays I’m striving every single, imperfect day to strike a balance between keeping it real and keeping it joyful.
