Please pray

This will be quick. I’m typing with my thumbs and have my first ever IV (ugh) I’ve been admitted to the hospital for pre-term labor. I’m 30 weeks, so baby still has some growing to do. My midwife is confident that fluids will help slow down the contractions and that I should be able to go home tomorrow. We were supposed to leave for a family wedding tomorrow, so my little ones are disappointed. I will do anything to keep this baby cooking for longer! Prayers are appreciated. I will try to update periodically on Twitter (@KateWicker).

Blessings!

Ohh, this happened to me a few months ago at 3o weeks. Those fluids did wonders. I am praying the same happens for you. Cook baby, cook! I know they say it over and over again and it is so hard to do – but trying not to stress really does help. A few hours of sleep while on those fluids did the trick for me and I went to 39 weeks :) Blessings.

Oh my goodness….I am crazy – I looked at the post, read the date of it as July instead of June – got panicky and just left a message on Deb’s phone to see how you are all doing! apparently you are doing better than I – as anyone looking at this will know that my brain is nonfunctioning.

So, no problem…I may not be able to focus/think or type – but I know how to pray (and God takes care of the rest – all I need to do is “show up in my prayer space”)

May He continue to bless you all.
    Ann

Hi, I’m Kate

I’m a wife, mom of five kids, writer, speaker, storyteller, bibliophile, runner, eating disorder survivor, and perfectionist in recovery. I'm the author of Getting Past Perfect: Finding Joy & Grace in the Messiness of Motherhood  and Weightless: Making Peace With Your Body.

I’ve tried a lot of things in my life – anorexia, bulimia, law school, teaching aerobics, extended breastfeeding, vegetarianism, trying to be perfect and failing miserably at it – and through it all I’ve been writing. And learning to embrace the messiness of life instead of covering it up, making excuses for it, or being ashamed of my brokenness or my home’s sticky counters.

Nowadays I’m striving every single, imperfect day to strike a balance between keeping it real and keeping it joyful.
