And the winners are…

Drum roll, please…

Kris Chatfield is the winner of Lisa Hendey’s A Book of Saints for Catholic Moms.

And Crunchy Con Mom is the winner of an autographed copy of Weightless.

Thanks to everyone who entered.

Oh, my readers really know their saints.

Madeline was St. Ursula. Rae was St. Rose of Lima. Mary Elizabeth was St. Francis of Assisi. Thomas was either St. Thomas Aquinas or Thomas à Kempis.

*To ensure the contest was fair, I listed each person’s name and assigned them numbers – starting with number one for the first entry and so on – based upon how many entries they received depending on if they guessed accurately and what other actions they took. (That was a mouthful.) Then I used Random.org to randomly select two numbers based on the 94 total entries (there were more entries than comments since people received bonus entries for picking the right saints). I’m not sure if anyone even cares about this, but I realized that this wasn’t the easiest contest to oversee since I said I would give people bonus entries for guessing right rather than simply using the number of comments as the number of entries.

Also, Marla had a great suggestion to make a future contest more challenging. I could have disabled comments until the contest closed so that no one would be able to see other’s guesses. Just thought I’d share all of this for any of you bloggers out there that are thinking of hosting contests and also because I’m a big dork who thinks true randomness is pretty awesome.

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.

*Imperfect motherhood story for Rabbit Box (no children will harmed in the telling of the story and Mom had permission to share this video)

*Some BODY to Love story for Rabbit Box
