The shameless plug post

First off, I’m pretty stoked about this:

I continue to be incredibly humbled and honored to be a part of this project and do indeed feel like a special guest. To learn more about Momnipotent, click here.

Danielle Bean continues to do amazing work to support wives and mothers in their vocations, and I am blessed to call her a friend.

On another note, while my family lucky enough to be vacationing in the woods of Maine I received a message notifying me that someone had nominated me as a top stay-at-home mom blogger 0f 2014. Many thanks to my faithful remnant for your support and for thinking of my little corner of cyberspace.

On a completely unrelated note, I actually have been thinking you might want to check out a resource called Katy Says. It’s a blog and website by a biomechanist, who talks about alignment, etc. You might find it interesting, considering your ongoing pain problems.

Thank you for the lead. I’ll definitely checking it out. I’m under the care of a great PT who seems to be getting to the bottom of it – quite literally. It seems a tail bone issue (from long-ago falls from a horse) as well as some pelvic floor problems (from having all those babies and carrying them low for so long) have been contributing to my problems and even masking what I thought was residual hamstring pain. I am very hopeful these days and have slowly eased back into a running program. I do still have iliac crest pain, but I’m hoping that will be resolved soon. Thanks so much for thinking of me. I’ll Google “Says.”

Thank you so much! You just may be my biggest fan. ;-)

Hi, I’m Kate

I’m a wife, mom of five kids, writer, speaker, storyteller, bibliophile, runner, eating disorder survivor, and perfectionist in recovery. I'm the author of Getting Past Perfect: Finding Joy & Grace in the Messiness of Motherhood  and Weightless: Making Peace With Your Body.

I’ve tried a lot of things in my life – anorexia, bulimia, law school, teaching aerobics, extended breastfeeding, vegetarianism, trying to be perfect and failing miserably at it – and through it all I’ve been writing. And learning to embrace the messiness of life instead of covering it up, making excuses for it, or being ashamed of my brokenness or my home’s sticky counters.

Nowadays I’m striving every single, imperfect day to strike a balance between keeping it real and keeping it joyful.
