Fourteenth Day of Advent

This Advent, don’t just have your kids send letters off to the North Pole. Ask each member of your family to also write a Christkind letter. This is an Austrian tradition where adults and children alike pen a letter to the Christ child that not only includes a wish list but also spiritual resolutions on how to grow more Christlike. Legend has it that the guardian angel of the letter’s scribe delivers the letters to Christ child.

I love this, Kate! Thanks for sharing it, and thanks for this series through Advent. :)

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.

*Some BODY to Love story for Rabbit Box
