Pumping Up My Soul

Over at In God’s Image, I write about how I’m going to focus on nourishing a healthy soul instead of joining the throngs of people who add things like “lose five pounds” or “train for a 5K” to their list of New Year’s resolutions. Sure, I plan on sticking to my healthy lifestyle (and still indulging in chocolate), but I’ve got more important areas of self-improvement that demand my attention.

For faith inspiration this New Year, check out Cheers! Here’s to a Healthy Soul! I’d love to hear what goals you’re setting that have nothing to do with the scale or the way your jeans fit.

May the New Year bring you joy, health, and happiness!

My New Year’s Resolution is to become the woman that God created me to be! Of course I won’t make it there this year, but I am going to get as far as I possibly can!

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.
