Small Successes 8

1. I haven’t had the baby yet!

2. I’ve enjoyed extra cuddle time with the girls in my big, comfy bed.

3. I’ve taken advantage of having extra helping hands around and the fact that I’m stuck in the horizontal position and have worked ahead on a few writing deadlines.

God bless you, Kate! I’ve been through bed rest my last three pregnancies…it’s no picnic, but can be such an opportunity to allow your family to love through serving. It’s tough for moms…we’re so used to being at the top of the service chain.

Your priest is right on…you are pleasing God very much right now…sacrificing your time and space to bring this new little on into the world!

Hang in there! Prayers for the remainder of your pregnancy. Pregnancy is hard, but amazing at the same time.
It’s absolutely beautiful what you’re doing.
I am glad you have help around. :)

Hooray for you, staying horizontal and keeping baby girl in the womb a bit longer! ;)

    Kate,
I didn’t realize you were on bedrest! Oh, how I understand! I had preterm labor with all three of mine, and spent 4 to 6 weeks either in the hospital or home confined to bed. NOT fun. But I’m glad to hear that baby is behaving herself and staying put. Will keep you and the wee one in my prayers. Be good! :)

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.
