Small Successes 12

1. We had our baby!!!

2. My older daughters are just tickled pink with their baby sister (nearly literally since X chromosomes are winning out around here) and are proving to be perfect, little mothers-in-training.

3. My milk came in on Tuesday, and Mary Elizabeth is an adept milk monger. Last night she had her first big non-meconium poop (it had taken her longer than my other children to get her indoor plumbing working) and when my preschooler saw her soiled diaper and how happy her dad and I were, she exclaimed, “This is just like Christmas morning!”

Share (and celebrate) your own and other moms’ small successes at Faith & Family Live!

*This will be my last post until the Easter season begins as I’m fasting from blogging in honor of the holy Triduum and to fully enjoy our growing family. May you all experience the profound joy of Easter! Blessings!

Just like Christmas morning! HA! I love it! This post makes my heart so happy and I think my uterus just jumped a little. OH, how I love the power and passion of those early newborn days.

Good on you for the blog fast. Enjoy every minute of this babymoon and may you know Christ more fully with each passing day.

    Blessings on you, Kate!

Congratulations, Kate! What a wonderful “small” success list for the week. I just love how kids make us laugh like that, too. :) God bless you and your new bundle!

How is having a baby a “Small Success”? More like AMAZING, INCREDIBLE ACCOMPLISHMENT! ;) Just teasing you. Congrats again and enjoy all three of your precious girls this Easter.

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.
