The View Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This

Forget scarves, funky espadrilles, and fancy jewelry. Babies make the greatest accessories and add more than a splash of color and beauty. When I “wear” Mary Elizabeth, this is the view I have. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Every baby brings a loaf of bread under its arm, not cake, bread…how beautiful!

    THE
    LOAF
    OF
    BREAD

    Every work of God…
    With it, something brings.
    On humid, hot-days clouds,
    Let go their rain-drop pings.

    ‘Fore lady, lightening strikes,
She warns us with her thunders,
    To shelter kith and kin
    As lightening sometimes blunders.

    And crusty, creeks bring rocks
And all the rocks bring slime,
    Where little, boys explore
To slip on rocks they climb.

    And under babies’ arms,
New lives bring loaves of bread.
    Holy Mother brings Our Lord,
    Blood-sacrificed un-red,

To feed the soul, which brings our flesh
    To earth then, hopefully, Heaven,
The priest, the rock, the Church, the flock,
    The sanctus sacrificium et seven.

Jess, I love my Ergo (used here with a baby insert). I can nurse with her in it and it’s easy on my back.

I’d LOVE a view like that in my day!

Oh wait! I already do, in a larger version right now. I’m nursing my 9 month old as I type ;)

Oh my gosh, I believe I’ve had a post that stated the exact same thing. Couldn’t agree more!

Don’t you feel proud and confident walking around carrying your little one snuggled next to you. Oh I can’t wait for those days. All in good times. =)

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.
