Girls & Curls

We had our first experience with foam curlers. I’d recently told Madeline how I used to occasionally sleep in curlers, and she immediately wanted me to try it with her tresses. And of course, Baby Rae didn’t want to be left out.

The before photos…

The after photos (which include curls and a bonus raspberry manicure)…

I've said it before, I'll say it again- you have beautiful girls! You better prepare yourself for when they enter their teen years….the boys will be flocking to them!

Wow, so beautiful! I can't wait to try this with Maggie…once her hair gets a little thicker! I use to sleep with braids to get curly hair, have you tried that with them yet?

Memories! My sister and I used those curlers all the time as little girls!

What beautiful daughters… you are blessed. They are blessed.

So cute! I got some foam curlers, just for fun a few weeks ago. My ten year old is now waiting for her hair to grow out (she has a above the chin bob) so she can start getting curly hairstyles too!

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.
