Moms, you’re great like chocolate cake

A love poem from my girls. And this is saying a lot because my kiddos really like their chocolate cake.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Wow! That was so sweet. Perhaps that’s the most precious gift you ever receive on Mother’s Day. I should agree with your girls. Mother’s are great like chocolate cake. :)

This, alone, sums up what our mothers do for us. And the fact that most kids have sweet tooth, they find chocolates great and amazing. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in the world!

That is awesome. I love where they scratched out a line so they could fit the word “so” in-obviously they were very serious about their writing!

My son let my 2 year old pick any stamps he wanted for my card, so it is covered in a mixture of sometimes overlapping or upside down jungle animals, flowers, and butterflies :)
I think homemade cards are the absolute best.

Oops just realized that I wrote son twice, when really my husband let my son pick. lol. I guess 9:15 is too early in the morning for me to be coherent.

I’m never coherent anymore. I make typos that make me absolutely cringe when I notice them. Oh well. It just means I’m squeezing all of this in between doing what’s really important: being a mama to my kids just like you are!

Hope you had a great Mother’s Day!

        Blessings!

My little four year old “read” his card to me, and it said that I was so sweet, sweet like coffee with cream. Considering how sweet I take my coffee with cream, that was quite the compliment! :)

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.
