To all the weary moms out there

I had a rare opportunity to spend some time with my mom and dad sans kids, and it turned out to be an early Christmas gift for me. I opened up to them about some of my struggles lately: A parenting challenge I’m facing with one child in particular, how I’m feeling discouraged and aRead the whole post >>

The medical experts stress that I need to be patient because of the stubbornness of this injury. I’m not a particularly patient person. And honestly, I have had my upsRead the whole post >>

Giving thanks and Advent links

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.
