O Sacrament most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, All praise and all thanksgiving, Be every moment Thine.  My dear Madeline, yesterday was the happiest and most important day of your spiritual life! Fashion Friday

I’ve mentioned before that I love clothes and shoes. I actually like shoes even more than clothes. I was once wondering aloud to an acquaintance about why this is (after she had complimented me on my shoes) , and she pointed out that it’s far more fun to go shoe shopping than clothes shopping becauseRead the whole post >>

We’re all extreme parents

Ironically, a few hours after I published this breastfeeding post I discovered a huge, hot lump on my breast. Not long after, I felt as if a Mack truck had plowed over me, and a part of me was regretting I was still a nursing mama. I had the chills, nausea, and I ached allRead the whole post >>

Extended breastfeeding is not extreme parenting

When visiting my parents’ house, people frequently enter their powder room and disappear. It’s a lovely room. My mom knows how to make people feel at home. There’s potpourri (and Poo-Pourri , too). Live Web Chat on Monday with Author Amy Bonaccorso

She’s the author of the award-winning book, How to Get to ‘I Do’: A Dating Guide for Catholic Women. (Full disclosure: I have not yet had the opportunity to read Amy’s book, although it is onRead the whole post >>

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.
