They will know we are Christians and mothers by our love

I don’t read many blogs much anymore. Sometimes I hate it because I know I’m missing some really good stuff. I also don’t like it because some of my “real life” friends communicate to everyone strangers and friends alike via their blog, and I don’t like to think I might be missing a pregnancy announcementRead the whole post >>

Mom’s Version of a Kettlebell Workout

When Baby gets fussy in the middle of your workout, have no fear. Just trade your weights in for his chunky, solid body, and you’ll still get quite a workout.

Moms, you’re great like chocolate cake

A love poem from my girls. And this is saying a lot because my kiddos really like their chocolate cake. Happy Mother’s Day!

Hi, I’m Kate

I'm the author of two nonfiction books Getting Past Perfect and Weightless, a storyteller*, overthinker, eating disorder survivor, mom of five, book junkie, socially awkward nerd as well as a speaker (so basically a walking and talking contradiction), and a perfectionist in recovery.

I am currently working towards my MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has read my drafts, offered feedback, and cheered me on. The writing life is often solitary, but I wouldn’t be here without a community of support.
